A-Level · Physics
A-Level physics tuition, online and one to one.
Physics asks for a physical picture and the maths to go with it, and it is usually the maths half that stalls people: rearranging an equation, keeping the units straight, and reading a graph as a description of something happening.
Tell us what your child is working on and we will find them an A-Level physics tutor. Every tutor holds an enhanced DBS check, has been interviewed by our school staffing team, and teaches in a recorded session in your browser.

The syllabus, in plain English
What physics covers
Depth and emphasis differ between levels and between exam boards, and your child's school decides both. If you are not sure which part is going wrong, this is the shortlist to read down before you tell us.
Forces and motion
Speed, velocity and acceleration, motion graphs, Newton's laws, momentum, and forces in equilibrium.
Energy
Energy stores and transfers, work and power, efficiency, and the national and domestic energy picture.
Electricity
Current, potential difference and resistance, series and parallel circuits, and mains electricity and power.
Waves
Wave properties, reflection and refraction, sound, and the electromagnetic spectrum and its uses.
Magnetism and electromagnetism
Magnetic fields, the motor effect, and induction and transformers.
Particles and radioactivity
The particle model, density, changes of state and pressure, atomic structure, radioactive decay and half-life. Some courses add space physics as well.
What A-Level asks for in physics
A-Levels are usually taken over two years, in Year 12 and Year 13, and they go a long way past GCSE in both depth and in how much reading and independent work is expected outside lessons.
A-Levels are graded A* to E.
Tell us where your child is now and what they are working towards when you tell us about them. Both are optional — plenty of families have never been given a target, and a guess is no help to a tutor — and whatever you say goes to the tutor with everything else.
Wherever you are in the United Kingdom
Every session runs online, in our own video room in your browser. There is nothing to download and nothing to install, nobody comes to your house, and nobody has to be driven anywhere on a school night. It does not matter where in the United Kingdom you live: the tutors on this page are the tutors available to you.
Tutor and child work on the same whiteboard, which updates for both of them as they write, and whatever is on it at the end is saved to the session. The lesson is recorded, and you can watch your own child’s sessions back from your account.
A physics tutor is still an adult alone with your child.
Tuition means somebody your family has never met spending an hour a week with your child, unsupervised. That is the problem this platform was built around, and it is why the vetting is not a page in the small print.
Read our full safeguarding policyEnhanced DBS, every tutor
Every tutor on the platform holds an enhanced DBS check. We do not make exceptions and we do not allow grace periods.
Interviewed before they teach
Our school staffing team interviews every tutor before they take a single session. They are the same people who vet and place staff in UK schools.
Every session recorded
Sessions are recorded and retained for safeguarding review, so there is always a record of what happened in a lesson. You can watch your own child's sessions back from your account. The tutor cannot.
Continuously monitored
Vetting is not a one-off. If a tutor's clearance lapses they come off the platform automatically, and they cannot teach again until it is back in place and verified by us.
Nothing happens off the platform
Every session runs in our own video room in the browser, and personal contact details are never exchanged between a tutor and a family.
