For parents
How it works
From finding a tutor to your child's first session — what happens at every step, and exactly when you pay.
Step by step
Five steps to your child's first lesson
Search and shortlist
Browse tutors by subject and level — from primary and 11+ through KS3 and GCSE to A-Level. Every tutor you see has already passed our full vetting, including an enhanced DBS check and a safeguarding interview.
Each tutor's hourly rate is shown clearly on their profile, so you always know the full cost before you request anything.
Request a session
Found the right tutor? Request a time that suits your family. Your card is authorised but not charged — we simply reserve the amount so the booking can go ahead the moment the tutor confirms.
The tutor confirms within 24 hours
If they confirm, your card is charged and the session is booked, with everything you need to join. If they decline or don't respond in time, the authorisation is released, you're not charged, and we suggest alternatives.
You're only ever charged for a session a tutor has actually committed to.
Learn online
At the appointed time, your child joins the session directly in the browser on our own platform — nothing to download or install. Every session runs in our video room and is recorded for safeguarding, with a recording notice shown before joining.
Cancellations and refunds
Plans change. Cancel at least 24 hours before the session and you receive a full refund. With less than 24 hours' notice a partial charge may apply, as the tutor has held the time for you. If a tutor cancels, you're refunded in full.
When you pay
You're only charged when a tutor commits
No subscription, no joining fee. Authorise on request, pay on confirmation.
You request
Card authorised — money reserved, not taken.
Tutor confirms
Only now is your card actually charged.
No confirmation
The hold is released. You pay nothing.
Every tutor vetted, every session recorded
Safeguarding isn't a feature bolted on — it's why the platform is built the way it is.
